Places to Eat and Drink

It’s a tough job but someone had to do it! We’ve personally checked out all these lovely eateries and they’ve got our thumbs up – nom, nom, nom.

The Crown Inn, 01544 318063 – just over the road from the cottage. Simple dishes in plentiful portions.

The Corners Inn , Kingsland –  01568 708385.  Recommended for a great traditional Sunday roast.

Salutation Inn, Weobley –  01544 318443. Great English fare with a contemporary flourish.

Restaurants and Tea Rooms

Old Forge Tea Rooms, Dilwyn – 01544 319306. Just over the road – homely and welcoming tea room and art gallery run by Marion. Apricot flapjacks are much recommended!

Flying Dutchman, Leominster – 01568 612130. This establishment has been running for more than 20 years (when Al was the cub reporter at the district office of the Hereford Times) and still serves the best hot pork bap in town. Cafe on two floors with a sandwich take-away.

Saverys, Broad Street, Leominster – 01568611051. Don’t let the slightly tired decor put you off. This cafe, flanked by antique shops, is a useful little refreshment stop for coffee or light lunch. The chef makes many of his own deserts and pastries – the pear frangipane is well worth a try!

Lal Bagh, Bell Square, Weobley, 01544 318210. The former Red Lion pub is now home to this exquisite Bangledeshi restaurant. Great service and a festival for the taste buds.

The Cider Barn, Hays Head, Pembridge, 01544 388161. Next door to Dunkertons cider – Herefordshire influenced hearty dishes..
